Have you ever been curious how authors write books? Follow along my journey as I write my latest book, Three Levels of Leadership.
I am in the beginning stages right now, coming up with the overall concept and story line. Story line? What? For those who have read any New York Times bestsellers from Patrick Lencioni or John Gordon, I am to write a similar book where I tell a captivating, drama-filled and page-turning story that keeps you entertaining while also teaching you about many of the leadership lessons I have learned as a leader for more than 20 years.
Answer some questions to help me research and craft more interesting characters.
You should read this book if you want to be a better leader and want an exciting, dramatic story to read (not a boring book)
You will learn about the three levels of leadership: how to lead yourself, how to lead others, and how to lead leaders. But don’t focus on that, get ready for a dramatic hero story told as a leadership fable:
Theo Peter, Vice President of Amazing Concerts & Events (ACT), has an amazing opportunity to give a TedTalk speech on leadership. The winner also gets $100k. Plus, it’s Theo’s chance to finally beat his rival, Max, Theo’s best friend.
Theo anguishes in his plane seat, hours before his speech, frozen with writer’s block. Seated next to Theo is Tiffany Paul, a life coach slash influencer who notices his despair and strikes up a conversation. The unlikely mentor, she guides Theo through a series of revelations about leadership, life, and love.
